This is the view from our new office that we will be moving into this week. It is only about another 300m down the street from our current office. I think we like Fitzgerald St
I have just been playing around with the facial recognition features in the new Picasa 3.5. It does a pretty decent job of finding people in photos and given a little training, getting those people correct.
By clicking on a name you get an overview of all the photos that they are in, and have the option of viewing the whole photo or just the person’s face in that photo. I find this view somewhat amusing at times, as you get to see the many different faces of a person. This is demonstrated quite well, by the series of photos above of Rohan. All of these photos were taken within a couple of minutes at my wedding, but Rohan never has the same expression!
Unlike me, who had the same expression on my face the whole day!
A few weeks ago, Dad came up and installed some fantastic lights in out Patio. This is the result.
We are really happy how it all turned out. Before this there was only 1 light out the back, a single white bayonet on the wall. There wasn’t enough light to do anything out there once it got dark. Now the place is lit up like the MCG, and the spotlights on the end of the patio highlight our little garden, which may one day have some sort of “feature” in it
Thanks Dad!
The new shed was delivered and installed last Friday. We spent the weekend cleaning out the garage and study, and very quickly filling the shed up! All my mowers, edgers, trimmers, snippers, spare computers, garden tools, power tools, bikes etc.. all have a nice new home in the (locked) shed
The back yard looks pretty much complete now, all we have left to do outside the house is the kitchen side (just need to decide exactly what it is we want to do out there!)
Our new shed is being delivered on Friday, so today Kevin and I laid the concrete slabs for it to go on.
The side gate and fencing were finished this morning. I’m really glad we went with the white in the end. We were thinking of a wood look or maybe colourbond if it was cheaper (which it wasn’t).
It really finishes off the front of the house, and gives us a bit of privacy from people walking past. It also doesn’t hurt the security (the gate has a key lock).
I have been so busy at work lately! So busy in fact that I am taking a week off soon! Should be good to get some more work done around the house. I might even get a garden shed up!
I just got home from seeing a preview of the new Star Trek movie, and all I can say is AWESOME!
It is a really good Trek film, but it is also good for people who don’t know the first thing about the franchise. It starts at the beginning (sort of, don’t want to ruin anything for people).
It has really good character development, as we are introduced to the crew of the USS Enterprise. JJ Abrams has gone of course a little from what some people might like, but I like the new direction, and I understand what Wil Weaton meant when he said “Star Trek Reborn”
There is plenty of scope for more movies and this young cast fill the roles perfectly.
5 stars from me!
